This is the poncho Loopy is knitting for our little girl cousins. She is also knitting sweaters for our little boy cousins (there are three of each sex, six in all). Isn't it adorable?

It his the really old poncho pattern from Columbia? It looks darling! I love the color... hadn't gotten out of my little-kid pastel thinking box!
I know nothing about knitting, but Loopy says no, this is not an old pattern from Columbia. It's from Knitting Pure & Simple.
We're making it--ok, she's making it (she has been half-joking about sweatshops lately)--in Rowan all-seasons cotton, lavender for one cousin, purple for the other. The baby girl gets a little purple sweater in the Rowan "Lucky" pattern (tadpoles & tiddlers).
The boys get all-seasons cotton in some lovely shades of brown.
